Casey Scott Sadler (born July 13, 1990) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates' organization.

Career

Sadler attended Western Oklahoma State College for two years.[1] The Pirates selected Sadler in the 25th round of the 2010 MLB Draft,[2] and added him to their 40-man roster after the 2013 season.

Sadler was optioned to the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians on March 10, 2014. He was recalled by the Pirates on April 27,[3] and made his major league debut against the Toronto Blue Jays on May 2. He was optioned back to the Indians on May 5 to make room for Jeff Locke on the active roster.

After starting pitcher Francisco Liriano was placed on paternity leave, Sadler made his first career major league start on April 12, 2015, pitching five innings and earning the first win of his career in a 10–2 victory against the Milwaukee Brewers.[4]

Sadler will miss the entire 2016 season due to Tommy John surgery. On January 8, 2016, Sadler was released by the Pirates.[5] He was re-signed by the Pirates the next day.[6]
