The British Journal of Anaesthesia (BJA) is a monthly peer-reviewed medical journal published by Oxford University Press on behalf of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (and its Faculty of Pain Medicine), the College of Anaesthetists of Ireland and the Hong Kong College of Anaesthesiologists, for all of which it serves as their official journal. The journal covers all aspects of anaesthesia, perioperative medicine, intensive care medicine and pain management. The current editor-in-chief is Ravi P. Mahajan[1] (University of Nottingham). The BJA was founded in 1923, one year after the first anaesthetic journal (Anesthesia & Analgesia) was published by the International Anaesthesia Research Society.

BJA Education

The BJA has a sister journal entitled BJA Education, which was renamed from Continuing Education in Anaesthesia Critical Care and Pain (CEACCP) and aims to strengthen the educational platform provided by the BJA as a whole.
