Blawenburg is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Montgomery Township, in Somerset County, New Jersey, United States.[10][11][12] As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 280.[4] It is located at the juncture of two large roads, CR 518 and CR 601. It contains the Blawenburg Cemetery and the Blawenburg Reformed Church.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, Blawenburg had a total area of 0.612 square miles (1.586 km2), including 0.608 square miles (1.575 km2) of land and 0.004 square miles (0.011 km2) of water (0.69 percent).[1][2]

Census 2010

At the 2010 United States Census, there were 280 people, 107 households, and 72.97 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 460.4 per square mile (177.8/km2). There were 115 housing units at an average density of 189.1 per square mile (73.0/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 75.36% (211) White, 0.00% (0) Black or African American, 0.00% (0) Native American, 19.29% (54) Asian, 0.00% (0) Pacific Islander, 0.00% (0) from other races, and 5.36% (15) from two or more races. Hispanics or Latinos of any race were 1.43% (4) of the population.[4]

There were 107 households, of which 31.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.7% were married couples living together, 4.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.8% were non-families. 27.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.62 and the average family size was 3.23.[4]

In the CDP, 24.3% of the population were under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 20.4% from 25 to 44, 31.4% from 45 to 64, and 18.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 45.0 years. For every 100 females there were 87.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.6 males.[4]

The Blawenburg Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990, it is District #88000632. The Reformed Dutch Church of Blawenburg was added in 1985, it is building #85002004.[14]
