Billy Rymer (born December 10, 1984) is an American musician, most notable for being the drummer for the band The Dillinger Escape Plan. He is the second newest and youngest member of the band.

Rymer is also a member of No Machine and NK (formerly North Korea).[1][2]

The Dillinger Escape Plan

When Rymer had heard from a teacher that the band was auditioning drummers, he promptly made cover videos and posted them to YouTube, which got the attention of bassist Liam Wilson (Rymer claims to have learned the songs in three-second increments, writing out each part and subsequently piecing them together[3]). After a trial of auditions, guitarist Ben Weinman invited him to Australia to play Soundwave Music Festival, and in early 2009 it was revealed that Rymer would officially replace Gil Sharone as the new drummer.[4]

Rymer has since appeared on The Dillinger Escape Plan's latest three releases, Option Paralysis, One of Us is the Killer and Dissociation.

Other Projects

Prior to joining The Dillinger Escape Plan, Rymer was the drummer for Long Island-based rock band The Rivalry.[5] Additionally, he played a short stint of shows with Psychostick in September 2010.[6]

Later on in 2010, Rymer began playing with NK (then known as North Korea), featuring members of Envy on the Coast and The Rivalry. NK has released two efforts, an EP Basement Tapes Vol. 1 and a full-length record Nothing To Be Gained Here.

In April 2014, Rymer had begun involvement in a new project, titled No Machine. To date, they have released one EP, Volume One.
