The 1916 Maryland State Aggies football team represented Maryland State College (which in 1920 became part of the University of Maryland) in the 1916 college football season. In their sixth season under head coach Curley Byrd, the Aggies compiled a 6–2 record, 4–0 against South Atlantic Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SAIAA) opponents, and outscored all opponents, 142 to 52. The team's SAIAA victories were over VMI (15–9), St. John's College (31–6), Catholic University (13–9), and Johns Hopkins (54–0). Its two losses were to Navy (7–14) and Haverford (6–7).[1][2]
