Joe Grace (baseball)

Joseph LaVerne Grace (January 5, 1914 – September 18, 1969) was a professional baseball outfielder who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the St. Louis Browns and the Washington Senators.[1] He played 6 seasons in MLB between 1938 and 1947. He served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1945. He posted a .283 batting average (442-1561) with 20 home runs and 172 RBI in 484 games played. His best season was in 1941 with the St. Louis Browns, batting .309 with 6 home runs and 60 RBI. Grace died in an automobile accident at the age of 55.
