Jayden Yuan

"Jayden" Yuan Xiaochao, born August 7, 1988, is a Chinese film actor, martial artist, and retired professional wushu athlete who was born in Shandong.[1] He was a world champion in 2005 and 2007.

Career

Throughout his wushu career, he was known was Yuan Xiaochao.[2] He started to practice martial arts in Songjiang Martial Arts School in 1998 and then trained in the martial arts team of Changzhi Sports School in Shanxi Province, which he represented in international competition. He became a principal member of the China National Wushu Team and rose to great international attention after winning the men's changquan gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Wushu Tournament.[3] He won the same event at the 2006 Asian Games and 2010 Asian Games.[4][5]

After retiring from competitive wushu taolu, he adopted the first-name "Jayden." 2012 marked his acting debut, and starred in the lead role of the film Tai Chi 0 and its sequel Tai Chi Hero.

Yuan's uncle is former competitive wushu taolu athlete Yuan Xindong, who won gold in the men's changquan event at the 2002 Asian Games.
