The Gastonia Transit System, or GT, is the public transit system in Gastonia, North Carolina, U.S. It operates bus service around the Inner City area of Gastonia.

Hours of Operation

Gastonia Transit operates between 5:30 AM and ends at 5:30 PM Monday through Friday. It also operates on Saturdays from 8AM to 5PM. Gastonia Transit does not operate on Sunday and the following holidays: Christmas Day, independence Day, Labor Day, New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Memorial Day. Gastonia Transit also runs a Saturday Schedule during the following holidays: Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Good Friday, Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve.

Costs

Gastonia Transit cost $1.25 for a full fare ticket, $.60 for a half fare, and $2.50 for Para-transit. Ten route passes are sold for $12.00 for a full fare, $6.00 for a half fare, and $25.00 for a Para-transit.

Routes

Gastonia Transit runs 7 routes. Gastonia Transit routes run every 60 min with the exception of the #1 Franklin Square and Dixie Village both being 30 minute routes, as well as #3 Marietta also being a 30 minute route, #2 South New Hope is a 1 hour route but only runs once every hour and a half as it switches with the #3 Marietta.

#1 Franklin Square

  1. 1 Franklin Square services East Franklin Blvd from Bradley Station to Akers Center, Kohl's, Sam's Club K-Mart, Lowe's, Wal-Mart East and back to Bradley Station. The Franklin Square bus is a thirty minute route, it runs once an hour Monday- Friday from 6:30 am until 5:30 pm and Saturdays once every two hours beginning at 9:00 am.

#1 Dixie Village

Dixie Village services W. Franklin Blvd. from Bradley Station to Dixie Village, it also services City of Gastonia City Hall, Garland Center, Conference Center the Gaston County Police Dept., Sav A Lot Grocery,

#2 South New Hope

South New Hope route is a one-hour route that services Gaston County Public Library, New hope Road near Ashbrook Village apartments, Ashbrook High school, Huntsmoor Drive, Franklin Square, and Franklin Blvd to Oakland St and Bradley Station. The South New Hope runs Monday - Friday once every hour and a half from 5:30 am until 5:30 pm and Saturday once every two hours beginning at 8:00 am.

#3 South Marietta

The South Marietta bus services Marietta St., Health Dept. at 3rd Ave., Garrison Blvd at Marietta St., Food Lion on Garrison Blvd, South Haven Long Term Center, Village Square Apts., Osceola St., Effird St., The Landings at Hudson Blvd., Madsion Place Apts., TWC, Aldi's, Bi-lo and several fast food establishments at the intersection of Union and Hudson Blvd., Union Rd., Catherine Booth Apts.,Destination at Union and Union Rd at Garrison Blvd. The South Marietta bus runs once every hour and a half Monday - Friday from 6:30 am until 5:00 pm and Saturdays once every 2 hours beginning at 9:30 am.

#4 South York

South York serves S. 321, the Health Department, Phillips Center, Hartford Point Apartments, Dixie Village Gastonia Fresenius Care, Ashley Arms Apartments. The South York runs once an hour Monday - Friday beginning at 5:30 am and Saturdays once every two hours beginning at 8 am.

#5 Edgewood

Edgewood route services the YMCA, Moss Drug, W Garrison Blvd., Employment Security Commission, Gaston Skills, Crescent Lane, Shannon Bradley Rd., Hwy 74 W, Food Lion @ Edgewood Road, Dixie Village, Linwood Terrace Apts., and Loray Village area. The Edgewood runs Monday-Friday 5:30 am until 5:30 pm and Saturday once every two hours beginning at 9 am.

#7 Highland

The Highland bus services the Highland Healthcare center, Erwin Park, Highland School of Technology, Headstart preschool on Radio St., Radio St. Apts.,Weldon St., Baker Blvd., Webb St. school, W. Franklin Blvd., and Dixie Village. The Highland bus runs Monday - Friday from 5:30 am until 5:30 pm and Saturdays once every two hours beginning at 8 am.

#8 Hospital

The hospital serves Gaston Memorial hospital, The Professional Building at Court Dr., Remount Road hotel complex, Cox road area, and Summit Crossing, Eastridge Mall, Social Security office and Gastonia Fresenius Care. The hospital route runs once an hour Monday - Friday beginning at 5:30 am and Saturday once every two hours beginning at 9 am.
