Life and career

Michael was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to a family of Hispanic and Russian Jewish descent.

At a very young age, Michael appeared in a commercial for Bojangles' Famous Chicken. Later, at 10, he was chosen to be the host of a series of four collaborative commercials for Hasbro Toys and Cartoon Network. This attention prompted Cartoon Network to invite him to present his own show on the network aimed at the 6–11 years niche. The Friday show was called Fried Dynamite while the Saturday morning show was called Dynamite Action Squad![3] The program lasted 3 years. In 2010, Blake appeared in No Limit Kids: Much Ado About Middle School and later teamed up with the film's co-star teen pop country singer Celeste Kellogg to create and sing a duet titled "Looking In Your Eyes".[4] He made a small cameo in Kellogg's music video "My Jeans."

In June 2010, he was discovered in an open casting call and was cast in a co-lead role as Charlie Delgado, in the Disney Channel made-for-TV movie musical Lemonade Mouth.[5][6] Michael has directed a short film called Anonymous that was released in 2011 and another called Notes of Hers in 2013. Blake played the role of Tyler James in the Disney Channel Original Series Dog with a Blog from 2012–15.[7] In 2015, he appeared as Chase in the Lifetime television movie I Killed My BFF.[8]
