Andrei Malychenkov

Andrey Yuryevich Malyshenkov (Russian: Андрей Юрьевич Малышенков; born March 28, 1968) is a former Russian footballer who played in the Soviet First League, Russian First Division, Russian Second Division, and the Canadian Professional Soccer League. He is currently the head coach for FC Ukraine United of the Canadian Soccer League.

Playing career

Malyshenkov began his in 1986 with Dynamo St. Petersburg in the Soviet First League. He later played with Kirovets Leningrad, a club affiliated with the Kirov machine-building factory. He would then have stints in the Russian First and Second Divisions. He played with Smena-Saturn St. Petersburg, FC Gatchina, Spartak-Orekhovo Orekhovo-Zuyevo, and FC Metallurg Lipetsk.[1] In 2000, he went abroad to Canada to sign with North York Astros of the Canadian Professional Soccer League.[2][3] He played with North York for four seasons, and reached the 2002 CPSL Championship finals against Ottawa Wizards, but lost to a score of 2-0.[4] After his retirement he helped form FC Ukraine United which competed in the Ontario Soccer League, where he served as a player/coach role.[5]
