There are no new animations this month since we're working hard to put the final touches on the next public demo of Oh So Hero: Pre Edition II. However, we have several previews for you in our most recent update post.

Changes made since last release (v0.14.800)...

New features:

• Teleporters have arrived! You will need to visit a teleporter location to activate it. This will allow you to fast travel there from any other teleporter. You can find teleporters near the starting locations of Sheo Islands Beach, Southeast Beach, Brask's Palace, and Lood City! The visual design of the teleporters will change in upcoming versions, but we hope you enjoy the convenience now~
• Drinks are in stock at the Grand Pour Bar & Grill at Smol Beach. You can use your Zenni to refill your HP/SP and optionally get a timed Buff to boost your lust resistance. In future updates we'll be providing more in-game information about the items you can buy and the stat increases they provide, but here's the rundown for now:
  • Spring Water costs 5 Zenni and fully restores all HP/SP.
  • Fruit Soda costs 10 Zenni and fully restores all HP/SP, plus provides the "Stamina Up Level 1" buff for 5 minutes, which gives Stamina +12 (less LP increase from enemy lust attacks) & Lubricity +16 (easier to break out of enemy grab power struggles).

Gameplay changes:

• All sex and fap animations have been slowed down to 85% speed. We feel this is a more natural pace that is closer to Red's original vision. Please take a look and let us know what you think!
  • All other animations, including movement and attacks remain unchanged.

Improvements & bug fixes:

• Joe's slide attack will continue until he has clearance to stand up.
• The slide ability also has new sound effects that will be further revised in a future update.
• Pause screen and other UI elements have been updated slightly.
• And even more fixes that are too trivial to list!

Changes made since last release (v0.14.700)...

New features:

• New NPCs: Dan & Griff! (includes new sex animations).
  • You can find them in the new Bayou Cabin area at the end of the Forbidden Bayou.
• New lewd sounds have been added to several of the newer sex animations.
  • This includes Ray, Stier, Treewish Forest sexy switch, etc.
  • More SFX revisions will be done in the future to both new and old animations.

Improvements & bug fixes:

• Treewish Forest sexy switches now pan the camera to the location of the activated platform. No more having to guess what a switch does!
• Reduced music volume by 43% to mix better with the sound effects.
  • NOTE: If you changed the music volume in the options, you may want to readjust it.
• Some UI menus have improved visuals and sound. More work will be done later.
• Progress has been made on other reported bugs and crashes, but more work is to be done.
• Updated credits and reordered people based on total patronage.
• And even more fixes that are too trivial to list!

We’ve mentioned in the past that not every release is going to have new content. Our work often needs more time in the oven before it’s ready even for a patron build. Some months you’ll get less, and some months you’ll get more. But we’re happy to report that August falls in the latter category!

Changes made since last release (v0.14.600)...

New features:

• New NPC: Ray, the Tanuki! (includes sex animation)
  • Find him in Lood City (still under construction).
• Added final sex animation for Stier!
  • This is when Joe is grabbed at 100% lust. Stier, the Minotaur, is found in Lood City.
• New Gameplay Camera System!
  • Makes the game really look and play like a metroidvania!
  • Go through Treewish Forest and Brask’s Jungle to see it in action!
• New Items!
  • Three new special items have been added. You can find them in Treewish Forest and Brask’s Jungle.
  • They are currently using placeholder sprites. We will be creating new 3D models for all items at a later time.
• Update to Joe’s Butt Stomp ability
  • It will now interrupt movement by the “water jets” (rainbow chevrons) in Brask’s Jungle. There is a use for this!
• Partial redesign of Southeast Beach!
  • Now includes a moving crane and a new platforming segment near Cas’s House.
• Linux Builds!
  • The 64-bit build is verified working on Ubuntu 20.04. The 32-bit build is untested. Your system must have at least 4GB RAM to run the game. Let us know here or in #osh-bugs (on Discord) if you run into any issues.

Improvements & bug fixes:

• Add proper spawn facing direction to all doors/checkpoints
• Hide loading progress bar when confirmation prompt is up
• Ensure loading screen and game over screen art/animations are proper aspect ratio and always fit in the window
• Attacks cannot damage defeated enemies (i.e. after lust defeat)
• Enemies can no longer interact with springs
• Enemies will stay on the platforms they are intended to stay on
• Change Joe's bounding box collider to include his head; it now has the same Y-position and height as his hurtbox
• Change sliding from 1/2 to 1/3 height
• Automap touchup, including new tiles
  • It is sometimes out of sync with rooms/camera. A rewrite is coming later.
• Better title screen fade-in
• NPC dialogue menu fixes
• And even more fixes that are too trivial to list!

Android build progress:

• Oh So Hero on Android is looking like a real possibility! We’ve produced an APK (Android build) that is running on a Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
• However, this is currently unplayable because of two key reasons we still need to plan for and address:
  • No input methods. The game currently only supports physical keyboard or gamepad. We need to allow control via the touchscreen, and this involves design consideration as well as development. There’s a lot of work to be done here.
  • No copied asset bundles. The files holding the animations are not automatically packed into the APK, and thus the build can’t progress past the title screen. We’ll need time to research and develop the simplest means of getting asset bundles on the phone, and with the best possible performance.
• Beyond that, there may be other issues we’ve not been able to see yet. Since we have other priorities right now, including the upcoming release of Pre Edition II, this may not be completed until 2021. However, we’ll keep you updated whenever we have new progress to share!

New features:

• 2 New Game Over Animations: Southeast Beach & Brask’s Jungle.

Gameplay changes:

• Joe’s regular attack and combo will only work when Joe is on the ground. We will be adding proper aerial attacks later.
• After an enemy’s KO status (yellow stars) expires, they’re considered “defeated”. But instead of flickering and disappearing, enemies will now remain on screen when defeated. Future development will have their sprites reflect means of defeat (i.e. soaked in cum).
• Various stats such as HP, damage, LP, arousal, etc. have been adjusted on Joe and all enemies for better difficulty balance.
  • Example 1: Goliath lick attack takes longer to wind up and deals less LP arousal.
  • Example 2: Joe’s slide attack deals far less damage, but still breaks boxes.
• A “Loading Screen Confirmation” option has been added to the Options screen. This controls whether you need to press Confirm after a new area has loaded. The default is “On”, which is good if you wanna watch the randomized loading animation. Turn it “Off” to return to the old-style loading (auto-confirm); good for speedrunners~
  • NOTE: First time loading the game will always require confirmation, just as it did before.

Improvements & bug fixes:

• Further AI revisions on Stier and other enemies.
• Small improvements to Stier sex animation playback & SFX.
• Revised dialogue for Ket in Sheo Islands Beach (multiple locations).
• Daku lust attack now momentarily hitstuns Joe, as was originally intended.
• The first Goliath in Brask’s Jungle is now facing/attacking in the proper direction.
• Hide mouse cursor while playing the game. Mouse is not utilized in-game currently.
• Progress has been made on other reported bugs and crashes, but more work is to be done.
• Updated credits and reordered people based on total patronage.
• And even more fixes that are too trivial to list!

We’re continuing to make progress toward Oh So Hero! v0.15, which will be released publicly as Pre Edition II. It’s taken longer than expected, but it will be a bigger and more polished package than originally planned.

You, the patrons, have made it possible for us to continue development on a fairly regular basis. We can’t thank you enough for that! However, we want to make sure we can keep up the pace without burning out due to end-of-the-month crunch mode.

Going forward, we want to be careful about setting specific deadlines. We're still gonna keep working at the pace we’ve been going at, but we don't want to “force deadlines” anymore. We will keep doing our best to release new content every month but we have to accept that sometimes the content won’t be ready that month and will simply be ready when it's ready. Some features simply can't be released half completed because of their very nature.

• Improved AI for all enemies. This update focuses specifically on more natural movement and more accurate attack targeting. We will continue to revise AI during development to adjust the difficulty and make further advancements.
• Fit camera to Goliath sex animations so it doesn’t get cut off by UI.
• Randomize enemy sex animation when Joe is at 0 HP.
• Enemies should no longer be able to miss attacks at low framerate.
• Enemies should no longer be able to change facing direction during attacks/sex.
• Swooned enemies that solo climax have a 15% chance to drop a Chillpill.
• HUD improvements; Zenni panel now appears contextually, or in pause screen.
• Updated credits and reordered people based on total patronage.
• And even more fixes that are too trivial to list!

Hey guys. Red here. I've gotten back into the groove of things and should be able to release the minotaur in a work-in-progress state in this month's build (hopefully with some bonuses).

Changes made since last release (v0.14.104)...

New features:

• Due to the unfortunate illness of our artist, Red, there are no new animations in this build. This is primarily a bug fix build.
• We have however laid the foundation for new items to be added to the game. These are simply a couple basic ones that have been introduced/backfilled to get the ball rolling:
• Gold Coins can be found in crates. They give you Zenni, a currency that will be used in the game later in development. They can be collected, but they currently serve no purpose.
• Sensual Body Paint is a stat boost item that will increase the arousal (lust) done to enemies when using Joe's sexy pose. It can be found in Treewish Forest near the second "sexy switch" device.

Improvements & bug fixes:

• enable Joe' slide hitbox/hurtbox sooner
• enemy AI will only use grab moves if Joe is swooned
• fix some enemy AI issues and enemy attack hitboxes
• prevent game crash if loading corrupt save file
• save stats to save file; max HP on load
• fix softlock at 0 HP if pressing X while in climax state
• fix respawning after falling in water
• no damage during forest sexy switch animation
• fix all control prompts to use active input method
• some dialogue-related tweaks and fixes
• reduce spring sound effect volume
• wood crate fragments will not interact with springs
• fix bug upon opening/closing credits screen multiple times
• and more!

Red Here! I’ve had the misfortune of my PC dying on me this month, which caused some slowdown in development. We hope you enjoy our work this month despite this! I’ve restored all my tools and taken steps to avoid this from happening again.

Thank you for all your support! We’re prepping the next enemy for the Forbidden Bayou area. We’re not quite sure when we’ll be done, but we’ll have at the very least completed 85% of it by the end of January.

I know a lot of you are looking forward to the Bull enemy too! Rest assured we’re getting there! So please be patient! That and more goodies will come in due time!

We’re being careful about setting specific due dates since tasks end up taking longer than expected. Especially in the art creation side of things, we often see opportunities to improve and expand on ideas. This sometimes leads us to take more time than originally planned for the sake of that extra quality to our work!

Oh So Hero! v0.13.017

December saw the hotly-anticipated addition of animations to two familiar NPCs: Cas & Brask!

It also added a new little area into Brask’s Jungle known as Brask’s Palace, introduced the first version of lewd sounds to all animations, and made various bug fixes and improvements.

What’s Next for Oh So Hero?

We are aiming to have Pre Edition II (v0.15) released by the end of March 2020. This will be our second public release. There are some big changes coming, but we ask for your patience as we get it all ready.

We added an NPC animation to Cas (beaver dude):

We added an NPC animation to Brask (black salamander), with a Small Palace Area (WIP):

Access it with the door near the entrance to the Forbidden Bayou.

We added Basic sex sounds to animations. You can always adjust or mute in the options menu (“lewd sound volume”). They’re very early since we need a lot more time to set up for every single different animation.

Other fixes:

• HUD & pause menu improvements.
• Treewish Forest sexy switch positioning/facing fix.
• Joe’s stats (HP, etc.) carry over from screen to screen.

No enemy updates this time around, but we are making progress on some neat stuff. More info to come soon.

Hey guys! Just a quick report. The last week of November has been rather rough, but we’re still chugging along.

We plan on releasing a build with two new NPC animations on the 14th of December!

During the entire month we’re going to be adding sound to as many animations as we can in order to release a sound update before the end of the year.

We’re making progress on this guy’s animations too:

We’re doing our best but he won't likely be implemented until early January!

After him, the next enemy will be this tough guy!

His design might not entirely be what some were expecting, but it will make more sense later in context! Once we’re done with the rather small swamp area—to be expanded much later down the line—we’re going to be tackling the main City Hub of the game! It's gonna be a big undertaking but we've gotten faster at this stuff so it shouldn't take very long!

This month saw the addition of a new adversary, Gatis, the swamp gator! He appears in the Forbidden Bayou, located beyond Brask's Jungle (where Pre Edition ended). While the Bayou is still under construction, all of Gatis's animations are now fully implemented and ready to enjoy for our $5 patrons!

We also made some much needed graphical updates that will keep players better informed as they play. These kind of "quality-of-life" updates, along with bug fixes, are something you can continue to expect during development of the game.

Part of creating a good game is making sure players have all of the right information. That's why this month we are launching a "beta version" of our official Oh So Hero! Wiki. You may access it through our website using any of our three domains: OhSoHero.com, ff-f.co, or our new arrival: ribbit.fun!

The most important page worth checking out right now is our new FAQ (frequently asked questions) page. Please give it a read! It supersedes the old Player Guide, and will surely help clear some things up for you.

Hi everybody! We're quite pleased and humbled by the amount of support you have given us since the launch of Oh So Hero! Pre Edition. It's hard to express our gratitude with words, but at the very least, we want to say thank you!

Pre Edition II

Back in September, we hit our first goal of $2,500 which unlocked Oh So Hero v0.15. So now we're officially announcing this will be coming in the form of our next public release, Oh So Hero Pre Edition II, in January 2020! You can expect to see it near the end of the month of January. At that time, we'll be updating our itch.io page, Patreon, and other social media accounts. So follow us to stay in the loop!

Next, we want to address the omission of a certain poll-winning idea from our roadmap. As some of you know, Patreon has enacted policies banning erotic hypnosis and related kinks. Because of this, we've decided to put the Hypno Orb idea on hold indefinitely. It's a difficult decision, but as we recently mentioned, game development is not straightforward.

10 Dollar Reward Adjustments

As exciting as it’s been to take in all fan ideas, we do have to set some boundaries because otherwise the scope of the game will only get larger than we can keep up with.

Taking everything into consideration, we've decided to update our rewards; specifically the ideas ($10) and polls ($2). We want to focus on more specific, more personalized input from our supporters. This will include examples such as:

• Deciding which species the next empty NPC slot will be.
• Deciding on certain sex acts to be included next.
• Naming certain items included in the game (and yes, there will be lots of items).

The topic of interest will likely change from month to month, so you'll wanna stay tuned to see what happens next!

We appreciate your interest in supporting Oh So Hero, but there are certain things we'd like you to know first so there is no confusion! We try our best to be as upfront and transparent about everything as possible.

This page exists to support the project and help it reach its completion.

This may seem obvious, but there is a point to bringing this up. The game already has a direction and a goal that needs to be reached. We simply like to reveal things as we go along as to keep things exciting. You are choosing to support our progress with your funding and we greatly appreciate it. Your pledge is not a commission. Despite our willingness to hear out fan ideas, we cannot bend development time to fulfill every single person’s ideas, kinks, and wants. At that rate we would never make any overall progress with the game and development would never end. We have to make some tough choices and keep chugging along. Of course we'll do our best to take in as much of your input as possible.

But Game Development is not a straightforward and linear thing.

What this means is that things will not always go as smoothly as we would want it. Some features that we may want may need to be cut or just may not turn out the way we would have wanted them to. If you intended to pledge for just ONE feature of the game or aspect that you might have wanted and hoped your pledge might influence it into being implemented rather than to aid the overall development of the game, then PLEASE DO NOT PLEDGE. Again, the last thing we want to do is disappoint or mislead anyone, but sometimes plans do change and we are forced to improvise.

The Patreon is for those who already like what they’re seeing and simply want to see more of it in the future. We reserve the right to develop things in whichever order we see fit. We cannot delegate this to the patrons due to development complications that occur quite often and force us to adjust constantly.

Programming and Art creation is a long and exhausting process. Therefore things will require time and patience. It is important to understand that things just don't magically happen right away. Hey guys! The new update is here! It's located at the end of the jungle area. Gatis is about 70% complete and will require another update this month to be finished. He currently has 3 out of 4 of the sex animations completed, plus the solo swooned animation.

Here are the major changes since last build (v0.12.001):

• Gatis (Swamp Gator) added to new Forbidden Bayou environment

• Keep having sex at 0 HP (also, 0 HP bug fixes)

• Butt Stomp enhancements

The sex animation that occurs at 100% lust for Joe will be inserted later this month, amongst some other stuff. We appreciate your patience as always!

The level itself isn't mechanically complete just yet either. It's only in a demo state for now.

We also plan to include sex sound effects next month, so look forward to that!

Hey Guys, the next enemy still needs a bit more time in the oven. Between the power outages and other inconveniences we’ve bumped into this month, we’ll need one more week of dev time to get our new GatorBoi, “Gatis” ready. We’ll post the new build of the game on Friday the 8th. Most of the work is done already, so we’re confident this is just the amount of time we need.

This month was light on content, but heavy on improvements to the game's performance. Many people who couldn't play the game before can now run it with ease thanks to our RAM fix and the rewrite of the animation system. This was a huge undertaking, but now that it's complete, we can focus more on new content and fixes for other issues.

Hey guys! Hope you’re all doing well. We're still in the process of writing our new-and-improved animation game code, which will provide the RAM fix needed to keep the game playable. This means we'll need more time to get the next build ready for you guys, but the good news is we're already over halfway done with the fix!

We're also making good progress on the next set of two enemies to be included in the game.

We are also preparing a small connecting area before you reach the main city of the game.

It'll take some time, but were workin' as fast as we can towards the next build! More details to come in the coming weeks. Ribbit~

In other news, we've posted the Oh So Hero! Pre Edition Pre Soundtrack. We plan to release a remastered version with a bonus track at a later time.

We also put together a short Oh So Hero! Player Guide to provide some information on controls and local save data. We'll be updating this, as well as the in-game information, as development progresses. Ribbit~

Oh So Hero build 0.10.004 is available with new bug fixes!

Oh So Hero v0.10.004 fixes:

• Can jump through elevators, and won't get squashed by them
• Rainbow chevron arrows have a speed limit and other fixes
• Move Cas's House up as temporary fix for strange bug
• Tone down Lono'e & Amaru grab strengths (sex drive)
• Add button prompt to power struggle meter
• Minimap cleanup & more fixes

This is the final planned update for the Pre Edition. What that means is we're gonna start putting in new content, and this will be available in new builds sent directly to our patrons until our next public release. Oh So Hero build 0.10.003 is available for 64 & 32-bit Windows with a massive performance improvement!

Here's a list of fixes:

• Proper image compression now greatly reduces RAM usage and loading times
• Lono'e (brown dinos) now get close enough to kick and grab
• Fix block locations in Treewish Forest
• Remove invisible platform in Sheo Islands Beach (hot dog cart removed temporarily)

At long last, we have released our first public demo of Oh So Hero!

Subtitled "Pre Edition", this is a free version showing off what we strive to achieve with this game. It's still rough around the edges, but we hope you enjoy what you've helped to create!

The current system requirements are rather hefty. You may need at least 16 GB of RAM to play, but we are working to reduce this number dramatically over the next month with some rigorous texture optimizations. 1000+ frames of delicious, high-res sex animations fill a lot of space! Our goal is to make the game accessible to as many people as possible, so please bear with us!

On July 31st, we will be releasing Oh So Hero v0.10 (also known as the "demo" or "prototype"). Hey guys! Super late update, but despite the challenges, we’ve made some really solid progress over these last two months. All of the main sex interactions are up and ready to go, and most of the important art assets are now in the game! We plan to have the level design and layout optimization all completed this month as well.

That said, even with all our hard work, real life events happen. Thus, we’ll need an extra couple months to finish the rest of the programming. On the plus side, that will give us more time to add bonus art assets we wouldn’t have been able to put in otherwise!

There is a lot more we could show off, but we don’t want to reveal too much at this point of development out of fear of spoiling the whole thing. We want you to be surprised!

Hey guys.Sorry for the lack of progressupdates on the game during the month of December. Rest easy knowing that we're still chugging along. At this point, we're done with most of these tiki dino (Lono'e) animations, and are in the process of tackling the rest.

We'regetting there with the frog enemy too, but it will require a bit more time than the little guys to complete.

On the level design side, we're making great progress and improvement in our workflow. Expectmore detailed level clips next month!

The Full Frontal Frog Patreon is still on pause, and Oh So Hero is still in development.

Over the past two months, the game's director and artist, Redemption3445, has been working full time on new art and animations for Oh So Hero. He will continue this work into the foreseeable future until we've established enough content to release the prototype demo.

At the same time, the game's producer and programmer, Ket✦Ralus, is helping to fund this project going forward. He has been busy with family the past couple months, but continues to add new features and improvements to the game when time permits. Ket is hoping to kick development into a higher gear this coming Spring.

We appreciate your patience and support as we take the time we need to craft a game that will be enjoyed and talked about by many. Thank you! Ribbit~

We’re at the end of the year and we really want to close in on the release of the OH SO HERO demo. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like we’ll be able to release it this month. Development will continue, but we don’t have an exact release date set at this time. We appreciate your patience.

The good news is that we recently received additional funding. We had mentioned this in a previous post, and the money is now flowing in to help us out.

Now that we’re better funded, we want to spend less time managing the Patreon and more time working on the game. Red in particular won’t have time to work on more bonus art from this point forward since he is too busy making assets for the game. We used this bonus material in the past to entice people to join and support the game on the side, but we need to speed up development of the game.

So to summarize :

We are not stopping development on OH SO HERO. We are simply pausing the Patreon for it.

As promised, all supporters will be included in the game’s credits*. The Discord server will stay open. If you have any questions, that is the best place to ask it!

Forest inhabitants are on track to be have most of their animations done. And we're making good progress on an extra (not full-featured for now)special enemy.

We want to make huge progress on these this month so we can get much closer to release as they are the last two big assets that need to be completed for the demo. Hey Everyone! We've been hard at work getting allot of the assets ready for prototyping and were making good progress!

Joe's basic solo interactions are pretty much 100% complete and the Amaru's (lizardmen) animations are at around 80% done!

The plan is to complete the lizardmen and dakus 100% next month and spend the one after completing the level design for the first big area in the game.

Here are some more shots of the spritework as well as some work in progress level assets were gonna have Joe interact with!

Hello, patrons and fans! We're now investing more money and time into developing Oh So Hero than ever possible since launching this Patreon. We couldn't have done it without your support. Thank you so much!

To make sure we stay focused on getting Oh So Hero released by the end of the year, we need to make a few small changes to our Patreon rewards:

• Future Dual-Streams will be 4 hours long, as it was this month. We may also make some adjustments to how we take requests in order to make things more enjoyable for our viewers.
• The Oh So Hero credit will be increased to a $10 lifetime pledge requirement starting Oct 1st. However, anyone who gave $5 prior to this still gets to keep their credit (early adopter bonus).
• The monthly bonus art voted on by our advisers will typically consist of a single colored picture based on the poll winner.
• The $5 off Daily Sketch Commission reward will be discontinued.

We're really gearing up work on Oh So Hero, and we're excited with the progress we've made so far this month. We hope to share some of the details about this with you soon. Cheers!

Hey guys! Hope you're all doing well! The sprite work is moving along well among other things! Were eager to show more in the near future but not as eager as Joe seems to be in the above pic! Were getting allot of the bits and pieces of the forest level together so it feels more complete.

Oh man someone get this fish off me! It wont stop sucking me off!

Some enemies like these fishes are more hazards than full featured enemies to help with the level design but that doesn't mean they cant be sexy hazards!

Hey Peeps! Hows it goin? Were in the process of implementing level buildings blocks in order to complete the forest area. This is the start of an Oh So Hero devlog we're calling A look into the future. These entries exist to show ideas that may not be implemented yet and are still in early stages.

This week we want to talk about our hamster friend!

He's the owner of a well-funded Brothel! Eventually we want to include backer-participated sex animations and NPCs (non-player characters) in the game, so a spot like this would be a great place to insert them and expand the building as more animations and NPCs are inserted.

For those who have been following the old Ket Ralus Patreon, or those of you who saw the game in action at FurCon this year, you know we are working hard to get a playable prototype of Oh So Hero ready and released for you all to enjoy. =}

Last month, Red Emption (Director & Artist of Oh So Hero) got injured. This necessitated extra time for him to recover, so we decided to re-prioritize our goals. We also started bringing aboard some new people to help with community and publicity aspects of the business. While the game's release will not come as soon as originally hoped, we're planning on giving our patrons regular updates and bonus content to build momentum as that day approaches.

We are aiming to have the prototype released later this year. If we can get it done sooner, we will! Nevertheless, adapting a more relaxed set of milestones also allows us to continue to produce bonus art and fulfill some promises remaining from the old Patreon. We're also excited to finally go public with Full Frontal Frog and Oh So Hero, and start showing off all of our hard work. We hope you enjoy it!
