Hierodula patellifera, common name giant Asian mantis, Asian mantis or Indochina mantis,[1] is a species of praying mantis belonging to genus Hierodula.

Description

Male: 45~65 mm long, females: 65~75 mm long.[2] Can be green or brown in color.

Range

They are found in Malaysia, Hawaii, India,[3] Java, Korean Peninsula, Philippines, New Guinea, Southern China, Taiwan, Vietnam, West Sumba,[4] Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Okinawa,[5] Taiwan.[6][7]

Habitat

H. patellifera lives in trees and in grasslands at the edges of forests.[8]
