Zoey Francis Thompson Deutch (born November 10, 1994)[1][2][3] is an American actress. She is known for portraying Beverly in the Richard Linklater film, Everybody Wants Some!! and Rose Hathaway in the 2014 film, Vampire Academy. Other films with Deutch include the upcoming Why Him?, Before I Fall, Rebel in the Rye, and Flower (opposite Adam Scott) and past films Dirty Grandpa, Vincent N Roxxy and Beautiful Creatures.

Personal life

Deutch was born in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of actress Lea Thompson and director Howard Deutch.[4] She was raised in her father's Jewish religion, and had a Bat Mitzvah ceremony.[5][6][7] She has been in a relationship with Twisted actor Avan Jogia since September 2011.[8]

Career

Deutch began her career in 2010 on the Disney Channel Original Series The Suite Life on Deck[9] as Maya, Zack Martin's love interest. From 2011 to 2012, she had a recurring role as Andrew's rebellious 17-year-old daughter, Juliet Martin on The CW series Ringer.

In 2011, she appeared in an episode of the television series NCIS titled "One Last Score".[10] Deutch booked a small scene in The Amazing Spider-Man; she plays a gossip girl in the bathroom who is terrorized by the Lizard. In the end, director Marc Webb cut the scene from the movie in favor of keeping the action of the fight between the Spider and the Lizard in the school, although the scene is available on the DVD.[11] She appeared in an episode of the television series Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior titled "The Girl In The Blue Mask" and landed a role in Marc Cherry's television film Hallelujah.[12] She appeared alongside her mother and sister on the big screen in film Mayor Cupcake, and played supporting character Emily Asher in the 2013 fantasy-romance-drama Beautiful Creatures. She starred as Rosemarie Hathaway in Vampire Academy (2014), based on the book series written by Richelle Mead.[13] In January 2014, it was announced that she would star opposite Tyson Ritter in Randall Miller's Midnight Rider, a biopic of Gregg Allman.[14]
