Zandspruit is a township in the Region C of Johannesburg in the Gauteng province of South Africa. It has been the scene of numerous protests against apathy and incompetence on the part of the local municipal authority, and failure of Eskom, the State-owned utility, to provide electricity to the shanty dwellers.
