Zaena Morisho (born January 1, 1991) is an African Pop singer, songwriter, recording artist and performer who was born in the DR Congo and raised in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Houston TX.

By the age of eight she began singing in a community choir where she developed her voice as an artist. As the years went by, she released her EP You Don’t Know which included the hit single Ur Love which amassed over a million views on YouTube in just under 4 months.[1][2][3][4][5]

Early life

Zaena was born in the Dr Congo and she was raised in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Houston TX as she had to move to every country her father was working in. She was raised in Houston, Texas and started singing at a very early age. At age eight she was singing in her community choir where she had the opportunity to hone her vocal skills.[6] She speaks six languages and sings in English, Swahili, Lingala, Nyaja, Shona, and some of French. Zaena graduated from the American InterContinental University, Houston with a BBA in International Business in 2012.[7]

Career

In 2014 Zaena partnered with Billberg Entertainment where she worked on one EP You Don’t Know and one Xmas single Candle. You don’t know and Gimme all your love (another of her singles) were on the independent charts plus on top chart 200 USA. The follow up single, Candle, was on the top 20 independent charts. In 2015 she was nominated for International Artist of the Year during the 25th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards.[8]

She is currently working on a new song and her most recent releases are Be Alone, One thing and BS. Be alone were released. The song is a mixture of genres from Hip Hop, R&B, Electronic, and Pop. Her other single,One thing was produced by James Worthy (record producer), and includes influences of Reggae, R&B, & Hip-Hop which was recorded and mixed by Hit Records Only. She wrote the song at the turn of the year 2016 as an inspirational song for everyone. It’s was released worldwide on January 14, 2016 and is available on all major digital outlets.[9]

BS was released on the 30th of April 2016 and it contains elements of Dance and Electronic and Dance Pop.[10]

In 2016, Zaena released her new EP 'ZAENA NOW'. Songs in the EP includes Diva, Be Your Girl, and Into You.[11]

Other singles released by Zaena include Bad Boy, Play My Song, Batteries, Freak All Night, Play My Song, Until the Sky Falls, Rock the Natural, Freak All Nights and Turn Off the Lights.[12]
