ZFB-TV is a television station serving Hamilton and the British territory of Bermuda. It is owned by Bermuda Broadcasting Company and is an affiliate of United States television network ABC and the British global television network BBC World News. The station broadcasts over-the-air on DVB-T Channel 20.2[1] and formerly on analog channel 7. It is also carried on channel 2 on the local cable television system.

In addition, ZFB-TV also broadcasts BBC World News programming at various parts of the day, especially in late-night.

History

ZFB-TV was founded in 1965 by Capital Broadcasting Company Ltd. Originally, the station broadcast on channel 8. In 1974, Capital Broadcasting Company merged with Bermuda Broadcasting Company and ZFB-TV was moved to channel 7. On March 2016, Bermuda Broadcasting ending its analog transmissions in Channel 7 and converted to Digital. ZFB-TV now broadcasts on virtual channel 20.2[2]

Digital television

On the week of March 9, 2016, ZBM-TV and sister ZFB-TV shut off their analog transmitters and converted to digital television broadcasts on UHF 20. Unlike other digital terrestrial television broadcasters in North America (which have switched to ATSC, Bermuda uses DVB-T for its digital television system.[3]
