Your Lie in April is a 2016 Japanese youth music romance film directed by Takehiko Shinjō, written by Yukari Tatsui, starring Suzu Hirose and Kento Yamazaki and based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Naoshi Arakawa.[1][4] It was released in Japan by Toho on September 10, 2016.[2]

Plot

Arima was a child prodigy in playing piano, his mother was desperate in making him win all competitions and making him the best pianist he can be. A tragedy happened resulting Arima to stop playing piano. One day he saw a girl freely playing the violin, Kaori. They soon became friends and Kaori wanted Arima to play the piano again and for them to play together in competitions. Soon enough Kaori became sick, Arima discovered something that complicates everything.

The theme song of the film is "Last Scene" by Ikimono-gakari.[4]

Reception

The film was third placed on its opening weekend, with ¥244.6 million in gross and 200,036 admissions.[5]
