Yodo1 is a mobile game publisher based in Beijing, China.[2][3] The company publishes games in China and international markets.[4] It was founded by James Lalonde and Henry Fong. Fong serves as CEO.[5][6] Yodo1 has co-developed games with Hipster Whale, Featherweight, ZeptoLab, XMG Studio, Defiant Development and HandyGames.

History

James Lalonde and Henry Fong founded Yodo1 in 2011.[7] Fong previously held leadership roles at Microsoft and Brocade Communications Systems [7] and now serves as the company’s founding CEO.[7]

Yodo1 closed $2 million in seed funding from Chang You Fund in June 2012.[7] In August 2012, Yodo1 partnered with HandyGames, a German mobile games developer and publisher, to introduce games to the Chinese market.[8]

SingTel Innov8, a subsidiary of Sing, led Yodo1's Series A funding and had participation from Chang You Fund.[9][10] Yodo1 acquired $5 million from the funding round.[9]

Yodo1 raised $11 million in Series B financing in December 2013.[11][12] GGV Capital led the funding round and had participation from SingTel Innov8, Pavilion Capital and Iris Capital.[2][11] This was the company's second funding round and raised its total funding to $18 million.[2]

In June 2014, Yodo1 received approximately 40% of its revenue from Apple devices.[13]
