The yellow-spotted petronia (Petronia pyrgita) is a species of bird in the sparrow family Passeridae.

The bird is also named Yellow-spotted Bush-sparrow (Gymnoris pyrgita).[2]

It is found in Chad, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. Its natural habitats are dry savannah and subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland.[3]
