Yahya R. Kamalipour

Yahya R. Kamalipour, PhD, is professor of communication, administrator, author, speaker, editor, consultant, reviewer, and president of Global Communication Association, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro. From 1986 to 2014, he served as professor (14 years) and head of the Department of Communication and Creative Arts (14 years) at Purdue University Northwest, Indiana, USA. A noted international scholar, his areas of interest and research include globalization, media impact, international communication, advertising, cultural diversity, stereotyping, Middle East media, and new communication technologies. He has traveled to over 55 countries, delivered invited speeches in every continent, been interviewed by numerous global media, and published 14 books, including Global Communication (2nd edition) and Media, Power, and Politics in the Digital Age". In addition to serving on the advisory and editorial boards of a number of prominent communication journals and professional organizations, Kamalipour is the founder of Center for Global Studies, Purdue University Northwest and founder and managing editor of the Global Media Journals(with 18 editions in 18 nations). He earned his PhD in communication at the University of Missouri, MA in mass media at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, BA in mass communication--public relations at the Minnesota State University, and AA in communication at the Marshalltown Community College.
