In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game, the xaren is a type of monster.
Publication history
The xaren first appeared in first edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons in the original Monster Manual II (1983).[1]
The xaren appeared in the second edition of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons under the "xorn" entry in the Monstrous Manual (1993).[2]
Description
A xaren is slightly smaller than a xorn, with a shinier, metallic hide. While xorn feed on minerals and stone, a xaren prefers enchanted metal, such as magic weapons and armor.
