Alekhine vs. Capablanca

The 1927 World Chess Championship was played between José Raúl Capablanca and Alexander Alekhine, in Buenos Aires from September 16 to November 29, 1927. Alekhine, a Russian, became a naturalised French citizen during the match (on November 5[1]).

The first player to win six games would be World Champion.

Alekhine won the Championship.

Notes

1.^ It has been suggested that if it reached 5-5 the incumbent (Capablanca) would win, but it is unclear whether this is the case.[2]
