Wolfgang Mager (born August 24, 1952) is a German rower who competed for East Germany in the 1972 Summer Olympics and in the 1976 Summer Olympics.

He was born in Kamenz.

In 1972 he and his partner Siegfried Brietzke won the gold medal in the coxless pairs event.

Four years later he won his second gold medal as crew member of the East German boat in the coxless fours competition.

At the 1980 Olympics the East German boat won the gold medal again but Mager suffered a hand injury before the Games and was replaced by Jürgen Thiele.
