William Page Roberts

In this multi-part name, the family name is Page Roberts, not Roberts.

The Very Rev William Page Roberts, DD (2 January 1836 – 17 August 1928) was an eminent[1] English clergyman in the Church of England and Dean of Salisbury from 1907[2] until 1919.[3]

Born at Liverpool to William Roberts and his wife Prudence (née Page),[4][5] he was educated at Liverpool College[6] and St John's College, Cambridge.[7] Ordained in 1862,[8] his first post was a curacy in Stockport. He then held incumbencies at Eye and St Peter’s, Vere Street.[9] Later he was a Canon Residentiary at Canterbury Cathedral[10] before his elevation to the Deanery. A much respected[11] cleric,[12] he died at Shanklin, Isle of Wight, on 17 August 1928.[13][14]
