William Fleming Hoggan Jarrett
William Fleming Hoggan Jarrett (1928–2011) was a British pathologist.
Life
He was born on 2 January 1928 in Glasgow. He studied at Lenzie Academy, Glasgow, and Glasgow Veterinary College.[1]
He taught at the University of Glasgow. In 1964, he discovered the retrovirus that causes leukemia and lymphoma in cats.[2]
He was made a Fellow the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 1965, and the Royal Society in 1980.[1]
He died on 27 August 2011.[1]
Family
On 27 December 1952, he married Anna Fraser Sharp; they had two daughters.[1]
