Wilhelm Molly

Wilhelm Molly

Wilhelm Molly (1838 in Blasbach, Wetzlar 1919 in Neutral Moresnet), was a doctor.[1]

He was the chief medical doctor of the Vieille Montagne mining company, Moresnet, Esperantist, and an avid philatelist, tried to organise a local postal service with its own stamps. This enterprise was quickly thwarted by Belgian intervention.[1][2][3]

In 1908 Dr. Molly proposed making Neutral Moresnet the world's first Esperanto-speaking state, named Amikejo ("place of friendship").[1]
