Story

In "Return to Castle Wolfenstein"

He appears as one of the secondary antagonists of the game. In this game he oversees the Uber-Soldat project and is given the rank of Oberführer. He appears only in cutscenes and is never fought psyhically in the game. The player fights with his ultimate creation, the Uber-Soldat. After the player has defeated the Uber-Soldat, "Deathshead" escapes in a rocket plane. After that he is not seen again in the game.

In "Wolfenstein"

He appears as the true main antagonist of the game. This time he is the replacement sent to replace the deceased Viktor Zetta, who was killed by Blazkowicz. He oversees the Black Sun projects and has been promoted to Obergruppenführer. In this game he has hired a bodyguard named Hans Grosse and again is not fought physically, instead the player fights with Grosse. He is believed to have died at the zeppelin crash caused by Blazkowicz, but is seen at the post-credits cutscene having survived the crash and screaming for revenge.

In "Wolfenstein: The New Order"

He appears as the main antagonist. This game is set in an alternate timeline. "Deathshead" first appears in 1946, where Blazkowicz is sent to infiltrate his compound. He captures B.J. and his teammates but B.J and all but one (Fergus or Wyatt; player's choice) escape. After escaping, B.J. falls from his wounds into coma like condition. He awakes in 1960, where Nazis have taken over the entire world. B.J. and his new team try to attack the compound for the second time and this time B.J. goes for Deathshead directly. First he fights his former ally turned to machine and then fights "Deathshead" personally. After Strasse's defeat Blazkowicz stabs him, but then Strasse makes a surprise by committing a suicide by grenade explosion intending to kill B.J. also. B.J. gets hurt and abandoned when his teammates leave the compound triggering a nuclear strike to the compound.
