White Water Canyon is a themed area in the Canada's Wonderland theme park in Vaughan, Ontario. It is located in a dense tree populated area and contains only 4 attractions, the lowest out of all the themed sections at the park. When Canada's Wonderland was being built, plans called for this section of the park to be called Frontier Canada. Frontier Canada was never built only to have White Water Canyon fill in the empty space in 1984.

History

Before Canada's Wonderland opened in 1981, during the construction phase of the park, developers had planned that a section called Frontier Canada would be built in the space of where the White Water Canyon and Splash Works sections sits today with the theme being about Canada's wilderness and space. Had Frontier Canada been built, this section of the park would have contained several attractions including a steam train and a mine ride with the Mighty Canadian Minebuster being the centre piece of the area. For an unknown reason, Frontier Canada was never built and in 1984 developers developed part of the empty land to what it is known as today, White Water Canyon.[1]
