Wayne Eyer Manning
Wayne Eyer Manning ( 1899 - 2004) was an American horticulturist and botanist.[1]
Biography
In 1920, he obtained his Bachelor of Sciences from Oberlin College, and in 1926, his Ph.D. from Cornell University, defending a thesis on the floral anatomy of Juglandaceae.
He was a professor at Cornell for one year, and then worked at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. He returned to Smith College where he taught from 1928 to 1941. In 1945, he worked in Bucknell University until his retreat in 1968.[2]
He published more than 40 publications consecrated mainly to Juglandaceae.
