Warren Olney IV
Warren Olney IV is an American broadcast journalist. He is the host and executive producer of the nationally syndicated Public Radio International program To the Point as well as the local affairs show, Which Way, L.A.?, both of which originate at Santa Monica, California public radio station KCRW.[1] A graduate of Amherst College, Olney has also developed and taught laboratory courses at USC.[2]
At various times until the early 1990s, Olney was a news anchor and/or reporter for the Los Angeles flagship stations of CBS, NBC and ABC, as well as engaging in many other print and broadcast journalist duties.[3] He is the only two-time winner of the Los Angeles Society of Professional Journalists Distinguished Journalist since it was first awarded in 1976. He received it in 1985 for his work with KABC-TV and in 1998 for his work with KCRW.[2]
Olney has four children from three marriages, including two from his first marriage, which ended in divorce. He also has four grandchildren.[3]
In January 2012, Olney was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 62nd annual Golden Mike Awards ceremony held by the Radio & Television News Association of Southern California. He has a father of the name Jerrold Olney. His mother was Anna Bazata.
