Licensed to Fort Valley, Georgia, USA, the station was purchased by Sun Broadcasting,Inc. of Perry, GA and is a sister station to WBML-AM Macon, GA and sister publication is the Houston Home Journal in Perry. The new studio location will be in Perry.[1]

On June 1, 2016 WXKO changed their format to sports, with programming from ESPN Radio.[2]
