WWE Heroes is an American celebrity comics comic book series, published by Titan Publishing and written by Keith Champagne with art by Andy Smith.

It stars WWE's most popular wrestlers, such as John Cena and Triple H.

The first issue was released in April 2010 with a continual storyline called Rise of the Firstborn. A different but similar story continues in the Undertaker's 2-part issue.

Rise of the Firstborn

In ancient times, a battle between good and evil immortals was waged pitting the good Firstborn against the evil Shadow King. Somehow the war spilled into the real world and into the WWE ring. During a WrestleMania match in progress, an evil terrorist organization led by Brother Josiah planned on eliminating the Firstborn who was disguised as a WWE Superstar.

Some Superstars like Edge, CM Punk, and Chris Jericho decided to side with Brother Josiah and the Shadow King while others like Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Big Show, Rey Mysterio, John Cena and the other Superstars and Divas try to fight against the terrorists. Meanwhile, WWE Hall of Famer Roddy Piper tries to infiltrate the arena while it was barricaded by law enforcement, some of them who were bought by Josiah.

During the battle against the Shadow King's followers, Triple H seemed like he was about to perish, but he surprised Josiah and attacked him. Triple H rallies the WWE roster to fight back against the terrorists and Edge and Jericho who were given spiritual manifestations of their power by the Shadow King who were defeating Shawn Michaels and his manifestation. The roster soon finds out that the arena was rigged with explosives. Triple H reveals to the roster of his true identity as the Firstborn as he squared off against the Shadow King Thrune (an anagram of "Hunter") as some of the fans were being taken by the shadows. Triple H managed to temporarily defeat the Shadow King as the bomb exploded. Most of the WWE Roster and the fans and staff got out unscathed.

Before Triple H faced off against Shadow King, he confided to the Undertaker to keep his secret safe for everyone so that the world doesn't know about the Firstborn and the Shadow King. Undertaker agreed and wished Hunter well. After the events that occurred, the corrupt police chief tried to get answers from the roster, staff and the WWE Universe, but found nothing. He spots the Undertaker about to ride off and tried to question him, but Undertaker strikes the crooked cop down and declares that he'll stop the Shadow King and all his followers come Hell or high water, and rides off into the sunset.

TimeQuake: Dead Man Walking

Undertaker was traveling through Mexico and stumbled upon Rey Mysterio about to be sacrificed by the escaped Rev. Josiah, until Undertaker ruined everything and saved Mysterio. Just then, zombies began encircling the two, each contain a powerful ash-like mist when inhaled would turn anyone to the Shadows. Mysterio accidentally inhaled the black mist and passed out leaving Undertaker to try and stop a now zombified Josiah from completing his ritual: to bring a dark goddess known as Santa Muerte back to life on the day she died.

Before Undertaker can succeed, Rey Mysterio turns on him and bound him for the sacrifice. Before Josiah began, Undertaker broke free from his bonds, knocked Mysterio unconscious and carried him out of the pyramid being pursued by anthropomorphic jaguars, servants of Josiah.

One jaguar was ordered to pursue Undertaker while the rest prepared for the ritual. Having no other choice, Josiah used his own heart to revive Santa Muerte. Upon her revival, she immediately begins her search for the Undertaker, who finds himself and Mysterio back in the Mayan era, and plans on finding a way to return to the 21st century before the world is doomed.

At a riverbed, Undertaker held down Mysterio's head underwater in the hopes of coughing up the ash that infected him. Unknowingly, a jaguar henchman attacked the Undertaker and was about to finish him off, until Rey Mysterio was free from the ash and pounced the jaguar. Undertaker easily disposes of the jaguar as he and Rey head back into the Temple to stop Santa Muerte from creating an army of undead slaves. Before Undertaker can fight Santa Muerte, he grabs the ceremonial glove Josiah used to rip out his own heart to bring Santa Muerte to life in hopes to undo the ceremony, but not before Rey Mysterio uses it to skin a jaguar for mask material, since his old one is about to fall apart.

Santa Muerte's past revealed she was once in love with Alaric (now known as Thrune the Shadow King) before he became mad with power and consumed by darkness. For her revenge, Santa Muerte hopes of overthrowing the Shadow King and claim dominion over the world for herself. Undertaker and Rey overheard everything and brought the fight head on. However, Santa Muerte stops the fight and motions Undertaker to talk. In hopes of sparing his life, Santa Muerte offers Undertaker to join her as general of her zombie army, otherwise he and Rey die and become zombies to server her. Undertaker vehemently declins and continues to fight the zombies. During the fight, he launches Rey to Santa Muerte who was about to leave the Temple. Rey manages to claw into her chest with Josiah's glove and damage her severely, but not enough to destroy her.

Mortified that Santa Muerte was damaged, she unleashes her wrath and causes an earthquake hoping to bring the Temple down on the WWE Superstars. Before she planned on taking Undertaker's energy, Rey Mysterio interferes, giving Undertaker enough time to completely rip out Santa Muerte's heart. With her heart gone, Santa Muerte is disintegrating and the Temple caving in. Undertaker and Rey Mysterio manage to survive the collapsing Temple and walk back towards civilization in the 21st Century, heading towards New Mexico where another Church of Darkness is established, hoping to find answers to the whereabouts of John Cena and Triple H.

Three days later at the ruins of the Temple, Reverend Josiah rises out as a zombie, still indebted to serve the Shadow King.
