WVLG used to be owned by and was founded by Senior Broadcasting which was owned by developers of The Villages retirement community. As such, it has its main studio at The Villages' Spanish Springs Town Square, with an auxiliary studio at Lake Sumter Landing Market Square. It is owned by Village Communications, which is affiliated with the descendants of the developers.
