Interference

As one travels east on U.S. Route 6 into the city of Warren, a Christian radio station on 100.7 FM (a WCTL repeater) starts to interfere with Rocket 101's signal.

History of the WRKT callsign

WRKT was at one time assigned to an AM station in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Call sign stood for "ROCKET 1300." The station served the Kennedy Space Center area (Titusville) to Melbourne. The station also simulcasted WRKT-FM at 104.1, which has since moved to Orlando. At the time of the simulcast in the mid-1970s the station was a Top 40 station that dominated the market.
