Vidavaluru is a village and a mandal headquarters in Nellore district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in india.[1] With a total population of about 50,000 people.

Vidavaluru is a village panchayat located in the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh state, India.The latitude 14.5721409 and longitude 80.0661975 are the geo coordinate of the Vidavaluru.

Vidavalur Mandal consists of 14 panchayats:[2] Alaganipadu, Annareddypalem, Chowkacharla, Dampuru, Dandigunta, Gadela Dinne, Mudivarthi, Parlapalli, Ramathirtham, Ramachandrapuram, Utukuru, Vidavalur, Johnpet, Vavilla, Varin.and other villages in vidavalur is Thummagunta,Musalareddygunta,Manmadharao peta, Chalikala, Pallipalem, Paddapalem, Verareddypalem, Badhrachalam, Yelagalaamma gunta, Ravendrapuram etc..

Geographic boundaries

Three Panchayats Ramachandrapuram, Ramathirtham and Utukuru are coastal villages. Penner River joins the Bay of Bengal at Utukuru Village.

In Vidavalur there are many temples such as Ankali matha temple,sivalayam,ramalayam,vinayaka temple etc.. The gramadevatha of Vidavalur is Ankali matha [jathara will start on the next day of tholi ekadasi every year and continues for five days] and in Ramaterdham the Ramalengeswara swami is one of the famous temple in the Nellore dist here in the month of july every year the Ramalengeswara swami thirnallu will celebrated in a grand manner. Parlapalli the village adjacent to vidavalur has many famous temples which can be visited on the way to Nellore.Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy temple is famous in Parlapalli. It is the one and only temple in AP after Kerala Padmanabha swamy temple

Climate

The climate of Vidavalur is a typical tropical maritime climate, with hot, humid summers and mild winters. April and May are the hottest months and the hot conditions generally last until the end of the June, December, January and February are the coolest months. As the Bay of Bengal is at a distance of 24 kilometres (15 mi) from the city, the sea breeze renders the climate of the mandal moderate both in winter and in summer. Humidity level in the mandal is high due to its proximity to the coast. Vidavalur does not receive the south-west monsoon. Rainfall in Vidavalur occurs between the months of October and December due to the north-east monsoon. This period gives about 60 percent of the city's annual rainfall. Cyclones are common in the mandal during this period, causing floods and havoc.

The nearest railway station to Vidavalur is Kodavalur and Nellore Nellore railway station lies on Vijayawada-Chennai section of Howrah-Chennai main line and hence well connected by rail to most parts of India. It is also connected by Chennai Suburban Railway, lying on the North Line which terminates at Bitragunta. It is classified as an A–category station.

Sea

Krishnapatnam Port Company in the sea is where Vidavalur live. (KPCL) was formed by government of Andhra Pradesh to develop the existing minor port into modern, deep water and high productivity port, on BOST (Build–Operate-Share-Transfer) concession basis for 50 years. It was opened on July 17, 2008. On May 9, 2013, Government of India decided to set up a second major port at Dugarajapatnam in Nellore District. It will be the second major port in Andhra Pradesh.

The nearest airport is at Tirupati (Renigunta), which is 150 km from the village which has limited services to certain domestic destinations like Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Mumbai and Delhi. The nearest major airport is the Chennai International Airport, about 230 km from the village, which is an international airport providing connectivity to major parts of India and the world.

Agriculture in Vidavalur - Rice Crops

Vidavalur[3] is an agriculture dominant economy, with 80% of the population dependent on Agriculture.The Agriculture lands of the Mandala are irrigated through Kanigiri Reservoir which gets water from Somasila Dam & Reservoir. The Assistant engineer for irrigation for this mandal would be located in Kodavalur. Its coastal villages have fishermen who are dependent on revenue from fishing. During the 90's the coastal villages had multiple hatcheries and aqua culture has come down drastically due to heavy losses in aqua culture and the canal are Maldavi it is a drinage and Pedda kalava it is a irrigation canal.
