Ventspils High Technology Park

Ventspils High Technology Park (VHTP) was founded in 2005. The Organisation is an active player in promoting high technology industry development in Ventspils city which is one of the major economic centres in the Republic of Latvia. VHTP specialises in information and communication technologies, electronics, mechanical engineering and space technologies.

VHTP provides infrastructure and services to high technology companies.[1] The main tenants are Siemens, Ventspils elektronikas fabrika, Inspecta and Ventspils University College research institutes.

Ventspils University College Research Engineering Centre’s two departments are situated in VHTP– Computer Design Department and Applied Electronics Department.

The location of the Ventspils High Technology Park permits the enterprises to get, by the status of the free economic zone, substantial tax reductions.

VHTP also operates the Ventspils Business Incubator. Business incubator was founded in 2006. Business incubator is situated in the 3rd block of Ventspils University College.[2]

The main task of the business incubator is to create new companies which would become financially and economically independent after leaving incubator.
