Peach-throated monitor

The peach-throated monitor (Varanus jobiensis) is a species of monitor lizard native to New Guinea. It belongs to the subgenus Euprepiosaurus, along with the Ceram mangrove monitor and Finsch's monitor.^[2] They grow up to 120 centimetres (3.9 ft) long. The colour of the throat, for which they are named, is white-yellow to red. They eat insects, frogs, freshwater fish, and small mammals.^[3]
