Valli (Tamil: வள்ளி) is a Tamil soap opera that airs on Sun TV. The show premiered on 17 December 2012. It was initially aired from Monday to Friday at 2:00PM IST and later extended up to Saturday. A new show named Chandralekha replaced this show at 2:00PM and pushed this serial to 3:00PM IST instead since 6 October 2014. The show is starred by Vidhya Mohan, Raj Kumar, Ajay, Rani, Lakshmiraj, Rajasekar, Latha,Poovilangu Mohan, Manohar,Pandu in lead roles.

The show is produced by Saregama and directed by R.P Maradhu, K.Shanmugam, R.Nandhakumar, N. Sundhareshwaran and Sai Marudhu.[1] The show completed its 1000th episode on 4 June 2016. It also airs in Sri Lanka Tamil Channel on Vasantham TV.

Plot

Valli series is a story that portrays the courage shown by a small town girl who is very simple and ordinary by the looks. She runs away from the small town due to the troubles caused by her maternal uncle as he tries to get Valli married to a local guy for money.

Valli starts a fascinating journey seeking fresh hopes in life and an environment to suit herself. She hides her own identity in the new environment and tries settling into a new life without any burdens and sorrows. During this period, There comes a new problem which she had never imaged about.

She faces many more challenges from the people where she is now currently and her life becomes more miserable than ever when she was in her small town. The story then takes a high twist and turn and runs into a peachy mood and how Valli shows her courage to manage all those problems and come out of the situation forms the crux of the story. Valli marries Vicky in an unexpected situation due to the cunning plan made by her enemy Indrasena and her Mama. Vicky once was a gangster, now he is a good husband,due to Valli's hard work.Indrasena and her Mama makes Vicky's family to lose all their wealth. Currently Valli dons her twin sister Vennila's identity in order to solve the problems in her life with the help of an old lady named Rajeswari who is Vennila's husband Anand's grandmother. Here, Vennila is blind from her birth. Rajeswari narrates her story to Valli and requests her to don Vennila to Valli and Valli to Vennila. Valli accepts it. Rajeswari has two sons Chandrasekharan and Sivashankaran. Here Chandrasekharan is Anand's father and Sivashankaran is Prakash and Shallu's father. Vennila's Husband Anand didn't go to school at his young days due to his uncle Sivashankaran's evil plans. Shankar also kills Anand's parents and makes Anand as a foolish and scared of his brother Prakash. He also makes Prakash as a bad guy. His daughter Shallu studies in Coimbatore.There Rajeswari takes Vennila(Valli) to make a eye operation and tells to everyone that Vennila(Valli) is not blind here after. And Shallu comes to Chennai and meets Arun in a lift and his father Natarajan in an unconscious state and rescues him and admits him in a hospital and gets a good name from Natarajan.Shallu loves Arun and marries him with 2 conditions that he should not have a mother or a sister.During marriage,her uncle Nithish makes plan to stop marriage but all goes in fail But Arun has a mother named Renukammal and sister named Suchi. He makes them as servant lady and paying guest with the help of his brother's wife Anandhi. Now, Valli helps Anand in his learning with the help of her friend Nandan. Prakash made Vaishali ,Grk daughter pregnant without his true identitity. She identifies him with the help of Valli and due to this incident, Valli, Indrasena and GRK becomes friends.Now Vennila is pregnant and the story moves in that line. One time for checkup Vennila comes to hospital with Vicky and Valli with Anand.After checkup ,Bala meets them and identifies the truth and informs to Sena but she doesn't show any interest and sends him and calls Valli and informs her to be careful. Sivashankaran and Prakash plans to kill Anand due to his wisdom and questioning them directly or indirectly. Prakash meets his goons and they say that Bala is perfect for this murder. Bala and Prakash meets together in a bar and Bala accepts to kill Anand.After Vennila (Valli) and Anand received Anand's degree certificate and go to Anjaneyar temple. There, Bala meets Anand and hits him with an ambulance. Now Vennila (Valli) admits Anand in hospital and the doctor says Anand is in critical position, even after doing operation he has 90 per cent to reach coma stage. Valli asks the doctor to do operation. Valli informs this incident to Vicky and tell him not to tell this to Vennila because she could get upset.Vicky tells Vennila that Valli can't tell truth to Anand because he was in mood out as he got less marks than he expected. Vennila believes it. Vicky's parents asks about what has happened to Anand. Vicky tells to them what had happened. Valli goes to the same Anjaneyar temple and prays to God that nothing should happen to Anand. After the operation the doctor says that we had just saved Anand's life,but there are many chances to Anand to reach Coma stage. After some time,Vicky visits the hospital and asks Prakash and Shankar how the accident had happened, they also explains everything. Shankar talks irrittably to all of them mostly targeting Vennila (Valli). Alll of them looks angry at Sivashankaran. Now Bala comes to hospital and hears everything that Valli and Vicky had spoken.Bala follows Vicky to his house and hides himself and says I will come afterwards, Vicky tells his parents that doctor that Anand has a chance to reach coma stage.But Vennila comes there and Mythili warns Vicky that Vennila is here don't tell this matter.Then they tells a lie to her.Vicky comes again to hospital and the doctor checks Anand but he doesn't show any reaction doctor calls all to his room and says that,"Now Anand is in Coma stage and want to spend his rest of the life in bed only. Vennila (Valli) cries and gets out of the doctor 's room and prays to God followed by Vicky ,he consoles Valli by encouraging her and at Shallu story,Nithish makes his girlfriend to act as Arun's lover by making a phone call to Arun.But Shallu picks up the phone and scolds her and hangs the call.After Arun took bath Shallu asks him who is she? Why does she call to you? etc... In the hospital the nurse informs that Anand had been shifted to special ward and you can see him. All of them goes rushing into the room and Rajeswari cries for Anand much. Not only Rajeswari all others also cried.Prakash warns Shankar to be careful to that Vennila (Valli). Shankar ignores him and I will prove her who is this Sivashankaran. Nithish meets Shallu and tells her not to talk to Arun till he proves that he is not a wrong person. Bala and Prakash meets and Prakash gives Bala a payment for his job,and also inform that Anand is in Coma stage. Bala asks Prakash"You only told me to kill that Anand,but you are giving treatment and saving his life,What is your plan?" . Prakash warns him that "This is your limit, Mind it",Bala sees Prakash with angry. Bala hears the life history of Prakash and Anand and confirms that Valli is Vennila,and says "Valli Bala's countdown had started,be prepared". In Shallu story, Nithish gets a good name from Shallu. In hospital,Valli and Rajeswari discusses that Shankar and Prakash can be responsible for this accident. When they finished talking about this,Gayathri hears everything and shows like that she didn't hear what they spoke. Now,Bala comes to Anand's room and says to Rajeswari that he is Vennila's brother and want to talk to her personally and Vennila (Valli) goes to the hospital reception and Bala says "I have identified everything,come to the garden at the backside of hospital". Valli also goes there and tells that "Please Bala,all our revenge have been got over when I sent you to jail,this is my sister's life please don't spoil this". But Bala is remembering the older things and scolds Valli. He also tells that he would tell the truth to Prakash and send you to jail,he takes his bike and goes to Prakash's office. Valli informs to Indrasena to stop Bala. Sena finds Bala in the Midway and stops him and tells the truth.Henceforth Sena-Bala alliance comes over and Bala also talks so casually to Sena that I will destroy Valli wait and watch,Sena warns Bala,and comes to the hospital.In the meantime Valli introduces about Bala to Rajeswari.Sena says them that she will help Valli in Bala's problem. Nithish meets a magical wizard and makes an impressing medicine to make Shallu as his wife. Bala comes to Azhagar's house and tells Vennila that I want to talk to Vicky and others,they will tell what have I talked,he tells them I just told about hospital matter. Nithish meets the wizard and gets the medicine and was advised to give it within 24 hours. In the mean time,Vicky informs Valli about Bala's arrival. Bala comes again to hospital at night. He stabs Anand with a knife and pulls Valli out from the spot. But these are all Vennila's dream only,she cries to Vicky and others saying she want to talk to Anand,but they consoles her. In Shallu story , Shallu asks milk to Renu,and she prepares it while preparing it Nithish comes and distracts Renu and mixes the impressing medicine.In the meantime Arun gets an idea from Natarajan to identify the girl who called him. Renu goes to Shallu's room but Arun says I will give this to her,and enters the room but Shallu says I won't drink this milk.Arun takes the milk outside,but Natarajan drinks the milk and changes like a woman and tells that he loves Nithish. Azhagar and Vicky comes to the hospital and informs her about the dream of Vennila and also advises to take care of Anand.When they leave in the Midway Rajeswari and Gayathri comes,While seeing them Gayathri hides in-between. Rajeswari speaks to them.Valli says Rajeswari that she wants to meet Vennila,Rajeswari gives permission for it.Valli goes to Azhagar's house and sees Vennila and tells her that Anand is studying outside,he will come back in 6 months.But Vennila says I want to talk to him through phone.Vali calls Vicky and he changes his voice like Anand to console Vennila.Nitish is upset that Natarajan had drunk the milk,so he drinks.Anandhi sees this through the window.While taking drinks bottles he sees a photo of Natarajan and Renukammal together,and gets shocked.At next day he calls all of them with a buildup and says to Shallu that Natarajan and Renu are really husband and wife and shows the cover in which he kept the photo.Nithish shows it,but Shallu says I will kill you,just watch this photo.Nithish saws the photo and gets shocked.Because it was not Renu and Natarajan's photo,but it's Aravind and Anandhi's photo.He gets angry and challenges Natarajan,Renu and Arun.In the meantime Doctor discharges Anand to house,and advices Rajeswari and Valli to talk to Anand,Share some happiness with him,Roam around the house with wheelchair.At their home Sivashankaran and Prakash cries for Anand and Rajeswari puts a gold chain to Anand as per his wish before going to temple.After all of them went to see Anand,Shankar and Prakash meets alone and Shankar appreciates Prakash.A constable informs Indrasena that a new Inspector named Karthikeyan had been transferred to control her. Including GRK also advises Sena to be calm and careful with the new Inspector. A lady enters Sena's house by climbing the walls and her goons catches her and she tells that she had got ₹50,000 loan amount from a man named Velpandy, and by cleaning the vessels she had got ₹1.5 lakhs and gave it to him but he is saying that she didn't paid the initial amount and ceized her daughter's certificates.With the help of those certificates only her daughter can go to the job.Like this,she cries to Indrasena.Sena says tomorrow the certificates will be at your hands,dont worry.Anandhi informs her family about how she changed the photo of Renu and Natarajan.Valli thinks how can she give bath to Anand,and how can I dress him.In that time Vicky comes to meet Prakash as an office matter.He comes to Anand's room and gives bath for him and dresses him and says to Valli to treat Anand like a child.Rajeswari comes to the room and praises Vicky and Valli.Prakash calls Vicky,but asks him why your clothes are wet? Vicky answers that instead of opening the tap he had opened the shower tap,that's why clothes are wet.In that time Valli and Rajeswari with Anand comes to the hall.Prakash scolds them in a low voice and leaves with Vicky. Rajeswari curses Prakash.Sena goes to Velpandy's home and asks the certificates of that woman's daughter.While coming to visit Sena Velpandy calls the police station secretly.Sena gets the certificates by kidnapping his son with the help of Grk.So,Velpandy gives the certificates to Indrasena,and she warns and leaves his house.Arun asks Natarajan and Renu their family ration card,for the foreign trip.Nithish hears this and calls Shallu also to hear what have they talked.Shallu comes but they speaks in Renu's salary matter.This is because,Anandhi saw Nithish and changes the topic. Valli prays to God without keeping the pillow in her stomach.Rajeswari sees and warns her,because Sivashankaran and Prakash were inside the house.To save Valli and herself,Rajeswari sends Prakash to her bedroom,to bring her specs.But Prakash saws the glass in the dining table and mostly sees Valli who is hiding behind the wall inside the pooja room.
