Unione

Unione (/uˈnjone/) is one of the four canonical painting modes of the Renaissance,[1] along with sfumato, chiaroscuro, and cangiante.[2] Unione is similar to sfumato, but maintains vibrant colors.

Unione was developed by Raphael as a response to Leonardo da Vinci's sfumato.[3]
