By late 1994 the Ukrainian Football Federation had secured recognition in time to compete in the UEFA Euro 1996 qualifying[1] (it had failed to secure recognition before the 1994 FIFA World Cup qualification[1]) Thus the Ukrainian national football team of 1994 was the first Ukrainian national team that played qualifying games and friendly matches.
