The school has now substantially improved and is no longer requiring significant improvement. Willows High was featured in the Channel 4 documentary Educating Cardiff in 2015.

Events

In December 2015, Christmas Pugfest was held at Action Petz in Tremorfa, and attracted more than 1,500 people and around 400 pugs to use the luxury indoor dog play centre. Pugfest is an organisation which holds fun days out for pugs all over the country and was set up by Rob Clowes in memory of his pug, Poppy.
