Tramea limbata is a species of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae. Its known names include black marsh trotter,[2] ferruginous glider[1] and voyaging glider.[1]
Distribution
This migrant is widespread in sub-Saharan Africa, southern Arabian Peninsula, southern Asia and nearby islands.[1]
Habitats
Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, shrub-dominated wetlands, swamps, freshwater lakes, intermittent freshwater lakes, freshwater marshes, and intermittent freshwater marshes.
Breeding
Tramea limbata breeds in both fresh and brackish waters in lakes, lagoons, ponds, marshes, and tanks.
Flight Season
This dragonfly species has a year-round flight season. Black marsh trotters generally fly midday commonly seen patrolling over many bodies of water.
