Toy Town Hall

Toy Town Hall is a 1936 Merrie Melodies cartoon directed by Friz Freleng.

Plot

A young tot is put to bed in the middle of listening to the Ben Bernie Orchestra on the radio. He falls asleep and dreams that his toys in the room become movie and radio stars who put on a version of Fred Allen's Town Hall Tonight, with a bunch of musical acts. At the end of the short, the youngster wakes up.

Notes

• This is Carl Stalling's first cartoon as musician. He would be the musician for WB cartoons until 1958. His last cartoon was To Itch His Own.
• This is also the final Merrie Melodies cartoon to use "I Think You're Ducky" as its theme music. The next Merrie Melodies cartoon, Boulevardier From The Bronx will be the first to use "Merrily We Roll Along" (a song that is performed during Toy Town Hall) as its theme music, which will be Merrie Melodies' signature theme music through 1964 and the last cartoon until The Night Watchman where the WB shield is red in the opening titles.
• The dubbed version was released on LaserDisc, however, the original end title does survive.^[1][2]
