Tom Pappalardo (born 1973) is a Northampton, Massachusetts graphic designer, cartoonist, illustrator, and musician. His 1996 comic "Alec Dear" (illustrated by Matt Smith) received a Xeric grant. He publishes the weekly comic strip The Optimist in the The Valley Advocate and online, and is working on a graphic novel, Broken Lines[1] (2007–present). He is the singer/guitarist of the guitar-drum duo The Demographic, with R. Sturgis Cunningham of MC Frontalot.
