History

Alamelu Mangapuram is home to the temple of Sri Alamelu (Padmavati), consort of Lord Venkateshwara. It is believed that the Goddess Lakshmi was born as Alamelu to Akasha Raja, the ruler of this region, and wed Venkateshwara of Tirupati.
