The series, although critically acclaimed, only lasted 16 episodes. Each episode had a run time of 30 minutes. The show ran in a similar fashion to the popular television series The Waltons. Along with Devlin, it was also one of the very few dramatic programs to be produced by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, known primarily for slapstick comedies and action-adventure cartoons. Warner Bros. owns the rights to all three shows, having acquired Lorimar Productions (which produced The Waltons) and Hanna-Barbera Productions.
