The Rise and Fall of Darth Vader

The Rise and Fall of Darth Vader is a young adult novel set in the Star Wars universe.[1] It tells the complete story of the title character from his introduction in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace to his death in Return of the Jedi, chronicling his early life as a slave on Tatooine to his transformation to the Sith Lord title character to his ultimate redemption. The hard cover book, which is 211 pages, was written by Ryder Windham and published in October 2007.

Anakin's story begins when he is taken with his mother to be a slave to Gardulla the Hutt, rival of Jabba the Hutt, on Tatooine. The story continues from there through the rest of the Star Wars films. In 2008, a sequel was published by Windham titled The Life and Legend of Obi-Wan Kenobi, which follows the complete story of Obi-Wan Kenobi in the complete saga. In 2009, another sequel followed titled A New Hope: The Life of Luke Skywalker, telling the story of the Luke Skywalker throughout the Star Wars films.
