Synopsis

The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin is the 7th album released by Kirk Franklin. The U.S. release on GospoCentric Records and Arista Records occurred on February 19, 2002. The album was intended to be released sometime in mid-June 2001 and early July 2001, then pushed to September 5, 2001 due to needing more time, then pushed to September 25, 2001, due to 9/11 pushed to October 30, 2001 in order to record "911" with Bishop T.D. Jakes and Scene 23, which was recorded September 24, 2001, however, "911" cost the album to be pushed back to December 25, 2001, which was later pushed to May 21, 2002 but fortunately on December 17, 2001 to be announced to be pushed earlier to February 19, 2002. Certification and Chart Success

The album debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 91,000 copies.[5] It was certified Gold on March 20, 2002 and Platinum on May 19, 2003.[6]
