The Proud Family is a 2005 video game based on the Disney Channel television show of the same name, which aired from 2001 to 2005.

Gameplay

In The Proud Family, Penny Proud finds herself determined to get her parents a T.H.A.N.G., the Total Home Automated Necessity Gizmo for their upcoming anniversary. The player must help Penny as she takes on a wide array of jobs, from being a waitress at Chez Wizard to creating new snack mixes at the Factory and mastering the art of making pizza. As Penny makes her way through the neighborhood, the player will encounter characters from the show such as Suga Mama and Penny's friends, who give her advice and direction, as she earns the money to buy the T.H.A.N.G. through a series of replayable mini-games and missions.

Reception

GameZone gave the game a positive review, rating the game an 8 out of 10 and they wrote, "The game looks great, and is animated wonderfully. It looks exactly like the TV cartoon. The sound effects are minimal, and the in-game music is pretty average [...]. The game is easy, but lasts a decent amount of time." However, GameZone criticized the game's platform levels: "There just isn’t much to this part of the game, and it could have had much more thought put into it." GameZone ultimately wrote: "Not just your average girls' game, this game offers a little something for everyone."[1]
