The North Jefferson News was founded in 1970 as a weekly newspaper. The paper added its Saturday edition in 2007, but discontinued it and resumed weekly editions at the start of 2012.
The paper's coverage area includes Gardendale, Fultondale, Pinson, Morris, Kimberly, Trafford, Bagley, Corner, Hayden, Locust Fork and surrounding communities.
